NatHERS Assessor
Full Time (38 hours per week) in Port Macquarie NSW

About the Role:
We are looking for an energetic NatHERS Assessor to join our team. If you like working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of projects, this position is for you!

Having the right attitude and work ethic is key to becoming a part of our team. Whilst we are looking for a qualified and experienced assessor, we would be willing to provide on-the-job training for the right applicant.

Key Daily Responsibilities:
• Thermal Performance Simulations using accredited software (preferably BERS) and issuing NatHERS Certificates
• BASIX Certificates
• Liaison with Clients, Building Designers and Glazing Suppliers

Essential Criteria – Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
• Experience in the building design or associated industry
• Ability to understand and interpret house plans
• Demonstrated time management and planning skills
• Well-developed communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills including sound problem solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and independently

Desired Criteria – Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
• Certificate IV in NatHERS Assessment (CPP41212) or Certificate IV in Home Energy Efficiency and Sustainability (CPP41119) or in the process of  completing
• Experience in thermal simulations using BERS Pro software
• Current accreditation with an approved AAO
• Previous experience working with an online data driven platform such as Workflow Max or Xero would be an advantage

Building Energy Efficiency Assessor

Accelerate Sustainability Assessments Pty Ltd

Accelerate is seeking a Building Energy Efficiency Assessor with a strong interest in the building industry and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

  1. Complete domestic and commercial energy efficiency assessments to achieve compliance with the National Construction Code and jurisdictional regulations, including:
    • Simulate a building’s thermal performance by using accredited NatHERS software;
    • Assess the individual elements of a building against the Deemed-to-Satisfy requirements of the National Construction Code;
    • Prepare and compile documents necessary to issue assessment reports.
  2. Undertake other sustainability and ESD assessments as required, including BASIX, NABERS and BESS etc;
  3. Provide clients with advice on passive design and cost efficient solutions to achieve compliance with energy efficient requirements; and
  4. General administrative and technical responsibilities related to building regulations.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in the building industry, design/drafting or in sustainability/ESD (desirable but not essential);
  • Experience with NatHERS or other energy efficiency modelling software (desirable but not essential);
  • Cert IV accreditation (desirable but not essential);
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and interpret technical information;
  • Computer skills with ability to quickly learn how to use new software;
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills;
  • Strong work ethic with high degree of professionalism and integrity;
  • Highly motivated team member with ability to work autonomously;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
