CPP41119 Certificate IV in Home Energy Efficiency and Sustainability transition…

The HERA management committee has undertaken extensive investigation on the new CPP41119 Certificate IV in Home Energy Efficiency & Sustainability qualification.

The findings from this investigation reveal that a NatHERS Accredited assessor would benefit from transitioning from the old Certificate IV in NatHERS Assessment CPP41212 to the new Certificate IV in Home Energy Efficiency and Sustainability CPP4119.

The major inclusions of the new upgrade are two level 5 units.

• CPPHES5002 Conduct thermal performance assessment of complex residential buildings

• CPCCSV5013A Apply principles of energy efficient design to buildings

Both of these units are quite detailed and require the participants to model a complex building using NatHERS accredited software. HERA is confident that this will increase the skills level of Accredited Assessors. NatHERS accredited assessors holding the qualification CPP41212 Certificate IV in NatHERS Assessment now have the opportunity to upgrade and transition to the new CPP41119 Certificate IV in Home Energy Efficiency and Sustainability qualification with Education in Building.

Whilst this is not a mandatory requirement to maintain accreditation there are a number of benefits in transitioning to the new qualification. There are many features that will assist thermal performance assessor in the use of any of the NatHERS accredited software tools.
